Description
What is Singapore Math?
Singapore Math is a teaching method developed in Singapore that focuses on deep understanding of mathematical concepts through problem-solving and critical thinking. It emphasizes mastery of fewer topics, but in greater depth, using a three-step approach: concrete (using physical objects), pictorial (visual representations), and abstract (symbols and numbers). This method encourages students to visualize problems and develop strong mental math skills, fostering a strong foundation in mathematics from an early age. Singapore Math is widely recognized for improving students’ mathematical proficiency and is used in various countries around the world.
